Monthly car rental in Phuket
Staying in Phuket for a month? A 28–31 day rental is usually far cheaper per day than a weekly booking – and much cheaper than taxis.

What is monthly car rental?
Monthly car rental is popular with remote workers, families on long holidays and winter visitors who spend the dry season (November–April) in Phuket. Many suppliers switch to a lower daily rate once a rental reaches around four weeks, so a month can cost much less per day than a one-week booking.
You book exactly like a normal rental – just choose dates about a month apart. Insurance, unlimited mileage and roadside assistance are usually included, as in a short rental.
Why choose it
How it works
- Search 28–31 daysTry both 28 and 30 days – the price can change at the monthly threshold.
- Pick a practical carEconomy or compact cars are cheapest to run; an SUV helps with steep villa driveways.
- Check the depositLonger rentals can have a higher deposit held on your credit card.
- Plan your extensionContact the supplier at least a few days before the end date if you want to keep the car.
Tips before you book
Book early for high season
November to April is when long-stay visitors arrive. Monthly cars sell out first.
Watch your credit-card limit
The deposit stays blocked for the whole rental. Make sure you still have room for daily spending.
Keep up with servicing
If the car is due a service during your month, the supplier will tell you where and when.
Check how long you can drive on your licence
Your licence and International Driving Permit must stay valid for the whole rental.
