Khao Lak, in Phang Nga province, is a quiet stretch of beaches and rainforest north of Phuket. Because the airport is at the north of the island, Khao Lak is closer than many Phuket beaches – about 1 h 15 min.

It is the base for trips to the Similan Islands from Thap Lamu Pier.
